No. 66 Best Buy Racing Team Announces New Associate
Sponsor
-Samsung to Sponsor Jeff Green, No. 66 Chevrolet
in 2007-
KANNAPOLIS, NC (January 25) - Best Buy announced
today that one of their retail partners, Samsung Electronics
America, Inc., will be an associate sponsor of the No. 66 Haas
CNC Racing Chevrolet, driven by Jeff Green in the NASCAR Nextel
Cup Series.
Samsung will be featured on the rear quarter
panels of the No. 66 entry in the 21 events in which Best Buy
is the primary sponsor, and will serve as the primary sponsor
in one additional event (TBD).
"We're thrilled to have Samsung join us
on the No. 66 team," said Barry Judge, senior vice president
of marketing, Best Buy. "Samsung is focused on bringing
a great experience to consumers, which is what Best Buy and
stock car racing are all about, so it's a great fit. We're
looking forward to working with them on exciting and innovative
ways to activate their sponsorship, both at-track and at Best
Buy retail locations."
Samsung Electronics America, Inc., markets a
broad range of award-winning, advanced digital consumer electronics,
information systems and home appliance products, many of which
are available at Best Buy retail locations and at www.BestBuy.com.
"Samsung is excited to join Best Buy in
sponsoring Jeff Green and the No. 66 team," said Tim Baxter,
executive vice president of sales and marketing for Samsung. "As
a leader in High Definition televisions we understand how passionate
sports fans can be. By participating in this
sponsorship we are able to expand our reach to auto-racing
fans, and better communicate the benefits of Samsung HDTV to
spectators of this fast motion sport."
"Watching a race on one of our HDTV's is
a close second to being at the track. We want fans to know
they can feel like they're sitting on the start/finish line
without leaving the comfort of their couch, and sponsoring
the No. 66 Best Buy Chevrolet is a great way to get the word
out."
Driver Jeff Green, along with representatives
from Samsung and Best Buy, unveiled the new paint design of
the No. 66 during a luncheon for media members at Haas CNC
Racing's new 150,000-square foot facility in Kannapolis, NC,
on Thursday.
"It's awesome to have brands like Samsung
and Best Buy supporting our team," Green said. "We're
looking forward to a great 2007 season, and with these companies
in our corner, we're confident we'll find our way to victory
lane this year."
The No. 66 Best Buy Chevrolet will be on track
during Speedweeks at Daytona (FL.) International Speedway in
early February.
